Hessian reading promotion
The Hessian Reading Promotion , which has been based in the Hessian Literature Forum in Mousonturm eV since 2004 , is an institution of the Hessian Ministry for Science and Art. Its aim is to encourage interest in reading, especially among children and young people. Together with public libraries, schools and other institutions, it develops and supports concepts to attract new groups of readers and to overcome language barriers. This includes projects such as “The Played Book” and “Reading in Pre-School Age” as well as numerous individual projects.
Public libraries that want to participate in the projects or have designed their own reading projects can submit funding applications to the office. In addition to individual funding, the Hessian Reading Promotion organizes the Hessian Reading Promotion Prize .
