Heterophobia (aversion to heterosexuals)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Heterophobia describes - mostly ironically, analogous to homophobia - an actual or alleged aversion towards heterosexual people or their way of life. For example, the human rights activist Peter Tatchell ironically described the English civil partnership, which was only established for homosexual, but not for heterosexual couples, as heterophobic. Occasionally, antihomosexual groups use heterophobia as a catchphrase to portray claims by LGBT groups for legal equality as directed against heterosexuals.
