Hethel is a small village in England near Wymondham , about 10 miles south of Norwich , Norfolk . The place has 446 inhabitants (2001).

Hethel is the location of the former RAF Hethel Airbase , which today houses the Lotus factory premises and the test track that uses parts of the former runway.

At over 700 years old, the oldest hawthorn tree in East Anglia can be found in Hethel . The tree called "Hethel Old Thorn" grows in the village's churchyard.
