hypocrite

Hypocrite stands for:

  • a person who is believed to be hypocritical
  • a group of early Islamic times under Ibn Ubayy called Munāfiqun (Arabic: hypocrites) in Medina: some Arabs had only apparently accepted Islam, but then (in the middle of the fight) opposed Mohammed and also stirred up the Jewish tribes of Medina, their alliances with Breaking prophets. They are condemned several times in the Koran.
