Hibil

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Hibil is a Persian spirit and light being ( Uthra ) and a mythical figure of the Mandaeans .

During an eschatological voyage to hell, he fought with the demon Krun to save all pious souls from the mouth of Ur . In particular Ptahil , Joshamin and Abathur are thereby redeemed.

Often he is equated with Manda d-Haije , in other sources presented as Manda's envoy.
