Sa'id Hijjawi

Sa'id Hijjawi , also Sheikh Sa'id Hijawi ( Arabic سعيد حجاوي, DMG Saʿīd Ḥiǧǧāwī ; * 1945 in Palestine ) is an Islamic legal scholar. From 1992 to 2007 he was Grand Mufti of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan . He is one of the Senior Fellows of the Royal Aal al-Bayt Institute for Islamic Thought (Royal Aal al-Bayt Institute for Islamic Thought).

He was one of the 138 signatories of the open letter a common word between us and you ( Engl. A Common Word Between Us and You ), the personalities of Islam to "leaders of Christian churches everywhere" (English: "Leaders of Christian Churches, everywhere ... “) (October 13, 2007).

He is married and has five daughters and two sons.
