The Hikarimoyomono ( 光 り 模 様 も の , "shiny-patterned variety") is a Nishikigoi, or Koi for short , a species of colored carp.

They are multicolored Koi with a metallic sheen. There are two groups: the Moyo and the Hariwake types. The Moyo types are crosses of Ogon and other varieties (except Utsurimono ). The Hariwake hybrids contain gold, silver and platinum in the colors.

Further breakdown:

  • Yamato Nishiki ( 大 和 錦 "Yamato brocade") - deep red color, good black (Sumi, "Indian ink") and is a platinum (white shiny flakes)
  • Heisei-Nishiki - white ground, red and black drawing
  • Koshi-Nishiki - Doitsu scales, yellowish, black background, white and red markings
  • Beni Kujaku - Red ground, dark colored scales
  • Kujaku - white ground, dark colored scales, red markings
  • Doitsu Kujaku ( ド イ ツ 孔雀 "German peacock") - Hi spots, the scales along the back and side lines are dark in color and is a platinum
  • Hariwake ( は り わ け ) - two metallic colors : platinum and either gold or metallic orange
  • Kikusui - Doitsu scales, platinum-colored, orange drawing
  • Torah - lemon yellow ground, black drawing
  • Shochikubai ( 松竹梅 "pine, bamboo and plum") - an Aigoromo with a platinum sheen .
