Hilda Sarah Bernard (born October 29, 1920 in Puerto Deseado ) is an Argentine actress . With a career that has been going on for almost 80 years, she is one of the most famous television personalities in her country.

Life

Hilda Bernard was born in 1920 in Puerto Deseado, Santa Cruz Province . Her father was from Great Britain , her mother from Austria . Bernard had two brothers who became professional rugby players. After completing school, Hilda Bernard attended the National Conservatory of Dramatic Art, but left it again after a short time. Instead, she took acting classes from various actors and directors.

In 1941 Bernard received her first roles at the Teatro Cervantes in Buenos Aires . From 1942 she could be heard in radio productions by Radio El Mundo, where she remained active for the next few years. Bernard received her first film role in Mala Gente in 1952 . She also gained popularity through her appearances in early Argentine television series.

Bernard had the high point of her career from the 1960s with appearances in numerous Argentine telenovelas and films. Among her best-known and most embodied roles is that of Amanda Viale in 272 episodes of the telenovela Malevo from 1972 to 1973 and that of Carmen Morán in more than three hundred episodes of Chiquititas from 1995 to 1997 . From 2002 to 2003, Bernard appeared in 75 episodes as Hilda Acosta in the telenovela Rebelde Way - Leb dein Leben , which was also broadcast in German-speaking countries. In 2004 she played one of the leading roles on the side of Faye Dunaway in the mystery thriller Jennifer's Shadow .

In addition to her film and television career, Bernard also continued to work as a theater actress. She is still active as an actress and has appeared in more than 80 films and television series. At almost 80 years of age, her career is one of the longest in her country.

Hilda Bernard was married twice and has a daughter born in 1951.
