Hildesheim Mission for the Blind

The Hildesheimer Blindenmission eV (HBM) is a recognized non-profit association based in Hildesheim . The organization was founded in 1890 by Luise Cooper as the Hildesheim Mission Assistance Association, making it the oldest German mission for the blind.

The purpose of the statutes is to enable young blind people to live in a Christian community in addition to a comprehensive education. For this purpose, HBM operates training centers for the blind and supports ophthalmological services in Southeast Asia, in China , Hong Kong , Taiwan , Indonesia , the Philippines and Burma / Myanmar .
