The Hilton hotel is located in the city center, on one of the city's most popular streets (Bulevar Sergio Viera De Mello) in the Zona Rosa and close to major business centers. The hotel is approximately 45 kilometers north of Aeropuerto Internacional de Comalapa Airport.

It was opened in 1997 and has a height of 55 meters. The building was designed by the Salvadoran architect Manuel Roberto Meléndez Bischitz . On an area of 1,245 m², which is spread over 14 floors, there are 204 rooms and 8 suites, which are complemented by modern conference facilities and a wide range of restaurants. It has 12 meeting rooms, including a large ballroom that can accommodate up to 800 people with 550 m².
In 2009, Hilton Hotel San Salvador was selected as number 1 among more than 290 participating Hilton Hotels in America.
