Manuel Roberto Meléndez Bischitz (born September 27, 1934 in Cannes , France , † October 2, 2011 in San Salvador ) was an architect and an honorary doctorate from the Universidad Nacional de El Salvador . He was the son of Fernando Meléndez del Valle, at the time a tenor and Aranka (Ari Ana) Bischitz and the great-grandson of Andrés del Valle Rodríguez , who was President of El Salvador in 1876 and also a direct descendant of Colonel José María San Martín y Ulloa , President of El Salvador (1854–56) and founder of the city of Santa Tecla in El Salvador. He was the uncle of the famous tenor Fernando del Valle .

Life

Manuel Roberto Meléndez is one of the most important architects in El Salvador. He studied architecture in the USA at Tulane University in New Orleans , Louisiana . From 1962 to 1964 he was a professor in the Faculty of Engineering and Architecture at the University of El Salvador. From 1973 he was co-founder and dean of the Facultad de Arquitectura de la Universidad Albert Einstein until his death. Since 1992 he has also been an independent entrepreneur and owner of what is now Meléndez Architects SA
