Himitsu - Top Secret

Himitsu - Top Secret ( Japanese 秘密 - ト ッ プ ・ シ ー ク レ ッ ト - , Himitsu - Toppu Shīkuretto ) is a manga series by the Japanese illustrator Reiko Shimizu , which has been published in Japan since 2001. The series was adapted as an anime television series. The work can be classified into the genres of mystery and science fiction .

content

In a series of murders that the police cannot solve, a police forensic laboratory begins to use MRI to visualize the victims' memories. But all memories of the examined are revealed. Ikkō Aoki and Tsuyoshi Maki, head of the laboratory, also witness supernatural incidents during the investigation.

The manga has been published in the manga magazine Melody by Hakusensha in Japan since December 2001 . The individual chapters have been published in twelve anthologies so far .

It has also been published in French by Éditions-Tonkam (11 volumes until 2014)

In 2008 Studio Madhouse produced a 26-part anime television series based on the manga, directed by Hiroshi Aoyama. The character design was created by Kyuma Oshita and the artistic direction was taken over by Tomoyuki Shimizu . The series was broadcast under the title Top Secret - The Revelation from April 8, 2008 to September 30, 2008 by Nippon TV in Japan. Repetitions by VAP and NittelEPlus followed later .

The music in the series was composed by Yoshihisa Hirano. The opening title Kokoro Film ( コ コ ロ フ ィ ル ム ) comes from Alvino, the closing song is Kemuri ( ) from Makichang.

reception

The manga was nominated for the Osamu Tezuka Culture Prize in 2002, but had to admit defeat to Vagabond by Takehiko Inoue .

The manga was nominated by the jury of the Japanese Ministry of Culture for the Japan Media Arts Festival 2008. The fourth and fifth volumes were among the five best-selling volumes in Japan in their first weeks of publication.
