Hiranuma group

The Kokueki to Kokumin no Seikatsu o mamoru Kai ( Japanese. 国 益 と 国民 の 生活 を 守 る 会 , dt. For "Assembly for the protection of national interests and the lives of the citizens"), mostly named after its former chairman as the Hiranuma group ( 平沼グ ル ー プ , Hiranuma gurūpu from English group ), was a conservative faction that existed from 2009 to 2011 in the Shūgiin , the lower house of the Japanese parliament . It last had two members. Until he left in April 2010, it was chaired by the former economics minister and long-time LDP member Takeo Hiranuma .

Hiranuma had to leave the LDP in the run-up to the Shūgiin election in 2005 as an opponent of the post-privatization operated by the party chairman and Prime Minister Jun'ichirō Koizumi and was re-elected as an independent in the 3rd constituency of Okayama against the "assassin" candidate Toshiko Abe . He then joined neither the new parties of the LDP "rebels", the New People's Party and the New Party of Japan , nor did he return to the LDP. In the run-up to the 2009 election , he announced the founding of a new party together with conservative independents. Hiranuma had already established a group of candidates, current and former members of the national parliament and in prefecture parliaments, which called itself the Hiranuma group , in July 2009 .

After the election, Hiranuma joined forces in the lower house together with former LDP MPs Minoru Kiuchi and Ryūji Koizumi to form the Kokueki to Kokumin no Seikatsu o mamoru Kai faction . In April 2010, Hiranuma founded the Tachiagare Nippon party with Kaoru Yosano , other ex-LDP MPs and the governor of Tokyo Shintaro Ishihara . The two remaining MPs of the "Hiranuma Group" kept the faction up until December 2011 when they joined the LDP faction ( jimintō - mushozoku no kai ).
