The Taiyō no Tō ( Japanese 太陽 の 党 , Eng. "Party of the Sun"; Eng. The Sunrise Party ) was a political party in Japan . It was created on November 13, 2012 from the previous Tachiagare Nippon together with the former minister and governor Shintaro Ishihara . On November 17, 2012, it announced its dissolution and the merger with Nippon Ishin no Kai .
Tachiagare Nippon
Tachiagare Nippon ( Japanese た ち あ が れ 日本 , Eng. "Stand up, Japan"; Eng. The Sunrise Party of Japan ) was founded on April 10, 2010 before the 2010 Sangiin election by five members of the national parliament . The party chairman was Takeo Hiranuma (previously the Hiranuma group ), who initiated the establishment together with Kaoru Yosano after he left the LDP . The two were joined by Hiroyuki Sonoda ( Shūgiin , LDP), Yoshio Nakagawa ( Sangiin , LDP) and Takao Fujii (Sangiin, LDP). It thus had five members in the national parliament, which is a prerequisite for formal recognition as a party .
Other LDP MPs and the resigned Kunio Hatoyama , who are dissatisfied with Sadakazu Tanigaki's party leadership , have declared their sympathy with the new party; some had held accession negotiations. In June 2010, the Sangiin member Kyōko Nakayama joined the party. On January 13, 2011, founding member Yosano submitted his resignation from the party.
The name of the party was proposed by Shintarō Ishihara, then governor of Tokyo and a former LDP leader.
Tachiagare Nippon positioned himself clearly in opposition to the ruling Democratic Party . Their core demands included a revision of the 1947 constitution , a fundamental tax reform including an increase in value added tax - also demanded by the LDP - and a sustainable social system.
In January 2012, Tachiagare Nippon formed a factional community in Sangiin with the LDP.
