Deer fountain (Elbingerode)
The Hirschbrunnen is a contained water source northwest of the Elbingerode district of the town of Oberharz am Brocken in Saxony-Anhalt .

The source is in the forest between Elbingerode and Drei Annen Hohne , is set in stone and marked with a deer relief. Immediately at the source there is a rest area with a barbecue area and a new Kote built in 2013 .

The forest restaurant “Zum Hirschbrunnen” and the youth hostel Elbingerode are located about 250 m from the source near the small stream it feeds. The area around the Hirschbrunnen is characterized by former iron stone mining , which was very active in this area until the beginning of the 20th century.
At the Hirschbrunnen on August 19, 2012, on the occasion of a star hike, the then chairman of the Harz Club Michael Ermrich unveiled a memorial plaque on the occasion of the 125th anniversary of the Harz Club Branch Association Elbingerode, which was stolen a short time later.
