Hirvitalo

Hirvitalo is a social center in Pispala, a district of Tampere in Finland. It houses the Center of Contemporary Art Pispala.

Hirvitalo has 3 exhibition rooms as well as a recording studio, space for serigraphy work and a shop. Outside, Pispala Pyörä Punx (Pispla Bike Punks) is repairing bicycles.

Foundation, endowment

Hirvitalo is operated by the Pispala Cultural Association, which was founded in 2006. The main objective of the foundation is to strengthen the cultural life in Tampere and Pispala by providing space for contemporary artists as well as for the local population to organize events.

activities

A wide variety of cultural activities take place at Hirvitalo all year round. B. Exhibitions of contemporary art, poetry festivals, video presentations, studio circles, performances, flamenco and drum groups, especially international artists.

The Pispala Carneval and courses in permaculture take place near the Hirvitalo . The house also offers support for the social integration of artists through training. The Pispalan kumppanuus ry and 10 other associations work together here.
