The Historical Journal of Film, Radio and Television (HJFRT) is one of the leading interdisciplinary, international journals on media history . The focus is on the classic mass media of film, television and radio, but also photography and digital media. It has been published quarterly since 1980 - first by Routledge and then by Taylor & Francis in English. It publishes peer-reviewed articles that deal with historical issues, mostly using archive materials or other primary sources such as interviews as sources. The journal publishes numerous book reviews from around the world, including non-English-language books. Some editions also include film, television and radio reviews or lengthy interviews.

The publisher is the International Association for Media and History . The editor-in-chief is James Chapman from the University of Leicester .
