Hivingen ( lux . : Héiweng; French: Hivange) is a district of the Luxembourg municipality of Garnich .

geography

Hivingen is located at an altitude of about 350 m about two kilometers southeast of the main town at the intersection of the municipal roads CR 106 and CR 101. In the immediate vicinity are the towns of Kahler (3 km to the north), Dahlem (1 km to the southeast) and Fingig ( 1.5 km to the west).

history

At the end of the 18th century the place had 10 houses and belonged to the parish in Garnich. The town's chapel, formerly occupied by a chaplain, was built in 1833.
