Kaiser & Dimitri are a Swiss rap - duo from Bern . Until spring 2015 they were active under the name Hobbitz .

history

The Bernese trio Kaiser, Dimitri and Spiro founded the Hobbitz formation in 1996 . Three years later they released their first album Bärn Räp Verträter , which is now one of the milestones in Swiss rap history. Several songs on the compilations Beetown Beatz , More Compilation , Kopfnicker Records , French Connection , Most Compilation and Berne City Allstarz as well as various mix tapes followed . After several concerts in Switzerland and Germany, the band separated in 2002. Dimitri was still actively represented in the rap scene with various features, Kaiser and Spiro withdrew completely from the music business.

In September 2014, fifteen years after the release of the first album, Kaiser and Dimitri got together again and the successor Schlicht & Ergrifend was released .

In January 2017 the third album Patina was released , which entered the Swiss album charts at number 1 .

Name change

In April 2015 Hobbitz changed their name to Kaiser & Dimitri . The reason was primarily the popularity of the trilogies The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings , which gave the general public a completely new meaning to names that were previously relatively unknown.
