The Hobie 14 - Catamaran is the world's most frequently spread sport catamaran.
The Hobie 14 was designed in 1968 as the first cat in a series by the American Hobart Alter (nickname Hobie ). In 1971, Hank Paulo founded the first Hobie Cat shipyard in Europe in France. The Hobie 14 has officially received international status through the International Sailing Federation (ISAF).
The 14 in the name refers to the length 14ft = 4.26m
