The Hobo is a font developed by Morris Fuller Benton for the American Type Founders in 1910 . It is characterized by robust curves and dynamic line width differences and its shapes are based on Art Nouveau . A special feature of the hobo is that it has no descenders, which is why the lowercase letters g, j, p, q and y do not protrude below the base line. Due to its friendly appearance, it is suitable for decorative purposes.
