Morris Fuller Benton
Morris Fuller Benton (born November 30, 1872 in Milwaukee , Wisconsin , † June 30, 1948 in Morristown , New Jersey ) was an American engineer and a well-known type designer . From 1900 to 1937 he was design director of ATF ( American Type Founders ), an association of American type foundries.
He has designed or revised over 200 font styles. The best known of his font families include ATF Bodoni , Broadway, Century, Franklin Gothic , Clearface, Celtenham, Stymie and Cloister Old Style.
