The HochX is a venue for theater and live art in the Munich district of Au . Works from the fields of theater, dance, music, performance and media art are produced and shown. From 1990 to 1993 the premises of the former Kolping Hall in Entenbachstraße served the Theater der Jugend (today: Schauburg ) as temporary accommodation. From 1993 to 2015 the i-camp / Neues Theater Munich was located there. After extensive renovation work on the building, the venue was reopened on September 17, 2016.

The HochX is an infrastructure facility of the city ​​of Munich and is primarily available to Munich artists and their sponsored or privately financed projects. The house, built in 1883, offers a professional setting for rehearsals and performances from all areas of Live Art, i. H. Acting, dance, performance, sound experiments, music, media art, art in public spaces , workshops and even children's theater once a month. In addition, guest performances from the national and international scene, u. a. shown at various international festivals in the state capital of Munich such as DANCE, SPIELART or Rodeo. The HochX sees itself as a space for testing and developing new aesthetics and working methods in the contemporary performing arts. The goals include the professionalization of free work, the networking of artists across geographical and disciplinary boundaries and the communication of aesthetic processes to a broad audience. The theater is 139 m 2 in size and, depending on the production, has a maximum of 165 seats (free choice of seats). The foyer with 73 m 2 is available for smaller events with max. 50 seats available.

Porter and management

The HochX is sponsored by the Theater and Live Art München eV association, the artistic directors are Ulrich Eisenhofer, Ute Gröbel and Benno Heisel, the management Susanne Weinzierl. You have been active in Munich's cultural scene for several years.
