Flood Medal State of Brandenburg 2013
The 2013 Flood Medal of the State of Brandenburg was donated by the Prime Minister of the State Dietmar Woidke on November 21, 2013 . It is therefore state recognition for self-sacrificing help in warding off dangers and removing damage on the occasion of the flood disaster in June 2013. The medal was awarded to all people who have provided flood / disaster relief in the state of Brandenburg.
Design and way of wearing the medal
The medal is made of bronze colored brass material . On its front, the Brandenburg eagle with the words: Land Brandenburg , a reference to the event and a thank you, and the affected region symbolically on its back. It is worn on a red and white ribbon on the left side of the chest. The medal can also be worn in a reduced form. Civilians receive a pin. Uniform wearers are equipped with a ribbon buckle, red and white covered with miniature. The front of the medal is shown on the miniature and the pin.
Award
The medal is awarded by the Prime Minister to people who, in June 2013, provided active assistance in combating floods in the state of Brandenburg, particularly on the Elbe, Black Elster and Spree rivers.
Award requirements
The medal is awarded:
- a) for at least one full-day on-site assignment. In individual cases, a deviation from this requirement is possible if this appears to be justified by the type and circumstances of the deployment. The help must have been provided as a personal effort and had a factual and temporal connection with the flood.
- b) The operation must have taken place on site or in the emergency response teams.
In addition to the medal, the award winners receive an award certificate with the signature of the Prime Minister and the large official seal. The medal becomes the property of the recipient.
Proposal authorization
The highest state authorities, the lower disaster control authorities and the state associations of aid organizations and the technical aid organization are entitled to make nominations for the award of the medal for their business areas. The suggestions for an award are to be submitted to the responsible nominee.
particularities
The State Chancellery is responsible for members of the Bundeswehr and the Federal Police. For firefighters and all other volunteers, the responsibility lies with the lower disaster control authorities.
Mandatory inspection
Those entitled to nominate themselves check whether the requirements for the award of the medal have been met. In cases of doubt, this can be proceeded generously if the respective facts justify this. Double submissions are to be avoided.
The suggestions are short overall and not justified in detail.
Those entitled to make proposals examine the suggestions and submit the proposals in duplicate to the State Chancellery in a list. They must contain the following information:
- a) Family name, academic degree if applicable
- b) first name (s),
- c) date of birth,
- d) Rank / official title, if applicable,
- e) Address, (main residence)
- f) Department, if applicable
- g) Uniform wearer / civilian person.
Procedure
The State Chancellery will notify the nominees of the names of the recipients, enclosing the medals and certificates. Those entitled to make proposals arrange for the presentation to be dignified. The deadline for ending the procedure is December 31, 2014.
