The Hodek HK-101 was a Czechoslovak sport and touring aircraft that was created shortly after the end of World War II . It only existed as a single piece.

development

Vincenc Hodek's Továrna sportovních letadel (sports aircraft factory) based in Prague - Holešovice relied on the unrealized project HK-1 from 1942, the construction of which was prepared at the end of the German occupation , but no longer implemented . Engineer Stanislav Kříž modernized the design now known as HK-101 (HK for Hodek / Kříž) and constructed an all-metal low - wing aircraft with retractable main landing gear and a closed cabin with two seats one behind the other. The developers opted for two local Minor III - Walter motors, the rear gondolas of which also accommodated the main wheels that moved backwards, while the tail wheel was rigid. The first thing to do was to create a full-size mock-up , which was exhibited at the Paris Aérosalon in 1946. In the following year, the construction of the prototype (registration OK – BOB ) was completed and on September 3, 1947 the pilot Kaucký took off for the first flight. During testing, a top speed of 360 km / h was achieved, which, in combination with good maneuverability, earned the HK-101 the nickname sportovní stíhačka , sport hunter. Another prototype was launched from February 1948, but although the aircraft also met with some interest in western countries, the program was inexplicably stopped and with it the production of the second HK-101.
