History and architecture

The courtyard was originally one of 35 to 40 courtyards that formed the cellar office of Altena Castle around 1300 . As is customary in the region, it lies above the valley.

The quarry stone building of the two residential and farm buildings, whose gables are boarded up, was built in the 18th century. The half-timbered building , a two-storey gable-roof house with a large doorway, was built in 1773. The single-storey half-timbered houses, as well as an open wagon and a tool shed, are assigned to the longitudinal hall houses with gable cladding.

The houses were probably farm workers' houses or old parts , they were built in the middle of the 19th century.

Due to incorporations since the end of the 19th century, the buildings are located in Iserlohner and Nachrodter municipality.
