The Hogan Group ( English Hogan Group ) is an uninhabited group of islands in the Bass Strait between Australia and Tasmania . The group of nine islands and numerous rocks is located about 32 km northwest of the Kent Group . By far the largest island of Hogan is in the west of the group.
While almost 99% of the islands' land area belongs to the Australian state of Tasmania, two tiny islands in the northeast, Boundary Island and Seal Rock , and some of the twin islands in the northwest, belong in whole or in part to the state of Victoria .
The only land border of these two South Australian states runs across Boundary Island and is only 85 meters long.
