HOGAST (Purchasing Company for Hotel and Gastgewerbe reg.Gen.mbH) is an Austrian purchasing organization for the hotel and catering industry. It is organized as a cooperative and has around 2,800 members. The cooperative works with more than 1,000 suppliers and generated group sales of 1.13 billion euros in the 2016/2017 financial year.

Corporate purpose

In particular, consumables and capital goods for the hotel, accommodation and hospitality industries are purchased for the members. Agreements are made with the contract suppliers on the design of their supply contracts with the members of the cooperative, taking over del credere and central settlement. In addition, joint tasks that benefit the entirety of the members, such as recruiting, quality management, administrative work and all ancillary business useful for the member companies, are carried out.

history

In 1976, a small Upper Austrian Erfa group with 17 companies laid the foundation stone for what is today - in terms of the number of members and sales - the largest Austrian purchasing cooperative for the hotel and catering trade. The aim was to create price advantages by bundling volumes across companies and relieving the individual SMEs and family businesses of routine tasks. Today the HOGAST has grown into a group of companies.
