The Hohenlohe Specialized furniture factory Schaffitzel GmbH & Co. KG is a German furniture and school equipment manufacturer headquartered in Öhringen equipping, schools and industrial companies. The focus is on the natural sciences . Production takes place at four locations in Europe: Öhringen, Wangen im Allgäu , Ilmenau and Várpalota .
History / development
Hohenloher was founded in 1879 as a school and gymnastics equipment factory and started the first industrial school furniture production in Germany. The company focuses on multifunctional furnishing concepts, learning landscapes, flexible media supply and the design of rooms with these elements. Hohenloher has been part of the Waldner group of companies based in Wangen im Allgäu since 2014 . This also includes Hermann Waldner GmbH & Co. KG as well as Waldner Laboreinrichtungen GmbH & Co. KG and eretec Laborplanung GmbH & Co. KG. In 2015, the company had to give up its Obersontheim location because it was no longer competitive.
Assortment / products
The range includes media supplies and fume cupboards specially designed for equipping scientific and technical rooms, as well as seating, workstation and storage systems as well as visual equipment components. The ceiling supply systems play a special role. The media wing developed by Waldner Schule was the first ceiling supply system for science lessons in 1999 that brought media such as gas, water and electricity through the ceiling to the learning areas. Shortly afterwards, in 2001, Hohenloher launched the Medienlift, a ceiling system with a swiveling arm. This allowed for improved flexibility when conducting experiments in groups of students. A new development in this area is the three-dimensionally navigable media supply Fly One.
Hohenloher Academy
With the Hohenloher Academy, the company wants to set impulses in questions of teaching and learning in interaction with the (school) space. In various events in cooperation with schools, universities, educational institutions, architects and foundations, topics relating to the planning, design and use of future-proof, contemporary room and teaching concepts are discussed.
