Double wall poster

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Hollow chamber posters are posters specially designed for outdoor use. Unlike conventional posters , they are not made of paper , but of polypropylene and are therefore waterproof. Unlike paper posters, hollow-wall posters do not have to be glued to hardboard , but are rather stable enough due to their hollow-chamber structure , e.g. B. to be attached to lanterns . Common sizes are DIN A1 and DIN A0.

In the field of street posters, especially for election campaigns, hollow-wall posters are used more and more frequently.

production method

Screen and digital printing

Widely used process in which the HKP is printed directly with the poster motif. The HKP can then be partially or fully treated with UV varnish. Or UV inks or varnishes are used in advance.

Offset printing

The motif is printed in offset on thin foil or synthetic paper. The printed sheet is then applied to the hollow chamber using a laminating machine. The fastening options are created during the punching that follows. Due to the offset process, this process offers higher quality and sharpness of the motif and is more economical for longer runs. The production of hollow-wall posters in offset printing was invented and patented by the Ellerhold Group, which is currently the sole supplier of this process.
