Hohoe is a place in the Volta Region in the West African state of Ghana . In the last census of the country on September 26, 2010, there were 73,641 inhabitants in the city. Projections for January 1, 2007 estimate the population to be 42,550. The 1984 census listed 20,994 residents. In 1970 the population was only 14,775.

The city is currently in 15th position on the list of the largest cities in Ghana.
