Dutch windmill Syrau
The Dutch windmill Syrau in Syrau is the only Dutch windmill in Vogtland , Germany.
The windmill was built in 1864 with two grinding courses. It burned down completely after being struck by lightning and had to be rebuilt. The milling operation continued until 1929. In 1934 the mill was declared a monument and shortly afterwards it was bought by the community. The mill has been open as a museum since 1982. A model of the mill can be found in the miniature exhibition area in Klein-Vogtland .
