history

In 1914, Karl Matthias Reich founded the company, which in the early years initially manufactured wire goods and apparatus for wire processing. Eleven years later, the first carpentry machines were produced under the brand name "Holz-Her", thus laying the foundation for today's product portfolio. In 2007 the company, then still Reich Spezialmaschinen GmbH, recorded the highest turnover in the company's history with 111 million euros. In 2010, Reich Spezialmaschinen GmbH filed for bankruptcy and was taken over by Michael Weinig AG , which is based in Tauberbischofsheim, but remained as an independent brand for the wood-based material processing sector within the Weinig Group and has been operating as Holz-Her GmbH ever since. The focus is on the production of edge banding machines , vertical panel saws, horizontal pressure beam saws and CNC machining centers . The company employs over 400 people and is one of the leading manufacturers of woodworking machines.

Locations

Holz-Her GmbH has been active internationally since it was founded. The company's headquarters with the areas of development, service and sales are located in Nürtingen, as is the demonstration and training center. The machine production is located in Voitsberg, Austria, in Styria. The company currently has 11 offices in Europe, Asia, North America and Australia. The move to a new building complex should take place in summer 2019. This is to unite the areas of administration and service with the exhibition rooms and the technology center under one roof.
