Holzdesign ( own spelling HolzDesign ) is an independent trade journal for carpenters, interior designers, the wood processing industry as well as the trade, the furniture industry and the furnishing trade. The content includes market developments in the industry, sales and price developments, design trends, new products, processing technologies, company portraits and trade fair reports.

The magazine is published eight times a year by the Österreichischer Agrarverlag , based in Vienna, with a print run of 7,400. There are also around 6,800 downloads of the e-paper edition.

history

HolzDesign appeared for the first time in 1996 as a quarterly supplement to the Holzkurier . Editor-in-chief and founder Gertrude Unger wrote in the editorial of the first issue: “With HolzDesign we want to offer a compact overview of the treatment and processing of wood as well as an insight into the fascinating world of furniture. The magazine sees itself as a specialist medium for building, living and furnishing. "

In 1998 the supplement became an independent, regular magazine. The layout was modernized under the direction of Andreas Fischer. Under Birgit Fingerlos, editor-in-chief since 2009, extensive steps were taken in the direction of digitization in addition to another layout change: the appearance as an e-paper was introduced, and a separate Facebook and website were launched.

Since 2014, HolzDesign has also been publishing quarterly wood specials on the main topics of floors, windows, panels and cross laminated timber together with its sister magazines Holzkurier and holzbau austria.
