Home Reef is a small volcanic island and belongs to the Kingdom of Tonga in the Pacific . It has an area of about 0.8 km² and is located about 15 km south-southwest of the island of Late . Home Reef appears at irregular intervals due to volcanic activity. The last time this happened was in 1852, 1857, 1984 and 2006. Subsequently, the island repeatedly fell victim to erosion . Currently (2014) the island that was created in 2006 still exists. She was (re) discovered by the Swedish sailor Fredrik Fransson.
