The Hopewell Rocks are a rock formation that was created by tidal erosion . Sometimes referred to as flowerpot rock (German: Flowerpot rock ) rocks designated remember their shape according to flower pots and are located at Hopewell Cape at the Bay of Fundy in Canada's New Brunswick . Because of the extreme tidal range (up to 16 meters), the rock formations are under water twice a day. The rocks are part of the Rocks Provincial Park , which opened in 1958, and can be viewed from the sea floor when the tide is low .
