Horaser Way 71

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

At Horaser Weg 71 in Fulda there is the listed facade of a former factory building and a manufacturer's villa.

history

The building was partially unused in 1905 before the machine manufacturer Klein & Stiefel, founded that year, began to produce woodworking machines in the part previously used by the Falkesche Schuhstoff-Fabrik . In 1910 , a large part of the building, in which a car factory was manufacturing, including the wood stocks stored outside, burned down , and from 1911 the Klein and Stiefel company moved out of the building into its own premises. Around 1968 the furniture factories Rhön Möbelwerke Albert Schönherr & Co produced in the building. Aldi Süd has owned the building complex since 2004 . In 2008, the then town planning officer of the city of Fulda replied to a parliamentary request that Aldi Süd was holding sales talks with several interested parties on the property, which had been used by the Rhönmöbel company, and that there was a preliminary building request agreed with the lower monument protection authority . In 2015 it was reported that an investor wanted to build ten condominiums with carports and garages behind the listed facade. The investor himself wanted to use the renovated villa. However, the purchase contract did not materialize.
