Horst Knöpke

Horst Knöpke (born September 6, 1907 in Leipzig ; † February 25, 1998 ) was a German SPD politician .

Horst Knöpke attended high school. After graduating from high school, he studied law, economics and newspaper studies at the universities of Leipzig and Munich. He passed the legal traineeship, the doctorate in 1936 and the major state examination in 1941. In the meantime he worked in the printing and publishing industry in Munich, Berlin and Dresden. Then he was in the civil service in the district office of Meißen / Sa. active. Knöpke was a participant in the war. From 1948 to 1954 he worked for the district of Iserlohn and from 1954 for the city of Dortmund.

politics

Horst Knöpke was a member of the SPD from 1948. He became a member of the ÖTV trade union in 1950. From 1956 he was councilor of the town of Schwerte and from 1964 he was deputy mayor. From 1964 to 1966 he was a member of the Iserlohn District Assembly.

From July 25, 1966 to May 27, 1975, Horst Knöpke was a directly elected member of the 6th and 7th Landtag of North Rhine-Westphalia for constituency 121 Iserlohn-Land I.
