Horst Langer (engineering scientist)
Horst Langer (* 1941/1942) is a German university professor. Until his retirement in 2010 he taught in the engineering and mathematics department of the Bielefeld University of Applied Sciences .
Life
After studying and obtaining a doctorate in engineering. Langer initially worked in the private sector. In the course of his career, he headed the development department of a large industrial company for five years. In 1984 he received a call to the Bielefeld University of Applied Sciences. There he taught in the product development course in the subjects of design, engineering, technical mechanics, gear technology and tribology .
In 2008 he received the Synergy Prize from the Bielefeld University of Applied Sciences. The award promotes interdisciplinary or interdisciplinary cooperation in teaching.
As curator of the exhibition Leonardo da Vinci - Moving Inventions , he continues to work for the Bielefeld University of Applied Sciences. As a traveling exhibition with a total of around 200 objects (pictures, sketches, boards, cloths) it is on tour across Europe. The exhibition will be shown again from June 14 to August 14, 2016 in the Deutsches Museum Bonn - for the first time from 2010 to 2011.
