Hosids
The Hosiden plug shape is named after the Japanese manufacturer Hoshiden KK ( ホ シ デ ン 株式会社 , ~ Kabushiki-gaisha ). It is one of the mini-DIN connections.
Hosiden connectors are used, among other things, for S-Video connections (Y / C-Video). Since only video signals are transmitted, the audio connection must be made via a separate cable (usually cinch ).
The connector has a diameter of 8.95 mm at the front.
The picture opposite shows the front view of a 4-pin S-video socket.
Occupancy:
- Pin 1: Brightness ( luminance ) ground
- Pin 2: color ( chrominance ) ground
- Pin 3: brightness (luminance), Y-pin
- Pin 4: color (chrominance), C-pin
Some older computer graphics cards have a Hosiden socket as an additional video signal output.
