history

The story of Hosokawa Alpine begins with Otto Holzhäuer in 1898. The company has been involved in mechanical process engineering from the start. In 1903 the brand name "Triumph" was patented for a universal shredding machine.

In 1909 the company name was renamed "Alpine Maschinenfabrik-Gesellschaft mbH". The name Alpine is derived from the Alps.

The film extrusion division was set up in the mid-1950s. In 1987 the company was 100 percent taken over by the Hosokawa Micron Corporation, based in Osaka , Japan , and the company name was renamed Hosokawa Alpine Aktiengesellschaft. Since then, the two business areas have developed successfully. Today, Hosokawa Alpine machines and systems are exported all over the world, the export quota is almost 80 percent.

Locations

The headquarters of Hosokawa Alpine AG are in Augsburg. A branch is located in Leingarten in Baden-Württemberg. The company also has several subsidiaries in Germany and abroad.

Hosokawa Alpine invests sustainably in its locations. Since 2008, around 30 million euros have been invested in new production and assembly buildings at the company's headquarters in Augsburg. In order to meet the increasing demand, the company is expanding its logistical infrastructure in Augsburg over the next few years. Around 20 million euros will be used to modernize the company headquarters and to build a new logistics center in the Augsburg freight center . As of 2019, the company will have over 22,000 m² of storage and handling space. With the new logistics center, Hosokawa Alpine is increasingly relying on environmentally friendly transport by rail.

Mechanical Process Engineering:

Hosokawa Alpine develops and manufactures machines and systems for mechanical process engineering for the preparation of powders, granulates and bulk materials as well as for recycling tasks. The company provides an extensive product portfolio for this purpose: from mills and shredders to classifiers.

In addition to machines for size reduction, the Mechanical Process Engineering division also presents solutions for compacting technology and laboratory equipment for particle analysis. The mechanical process engineering division is divided into seven divisions: Chemicals, Minerals & Metals, Pharma & Laboratory, Food, Recycling, Compacting Technology and Blueserv.

Film extrusion:

The film extrusion division of Hosokawa Alpine is one of the world's leading suppliers of machines for film production. From consulting, through planning and development, to installation, the company accompanies all project steps for its customers.

Hosokawa Alpine blown film lines and monoaxial film stretching lines are used for numerous applications and impress with their high level of cost-effectiveness and flexibility. With machines from Hosokawa Alpine, customers from all over the world produce, among other things, fresh produce and industrial packaging. In addition to mono-shift systems, the company also produces multi-shift systems. Starting with 3-layer systems, the current standard, to 5-layer systems up to 7-, 9- and 11-layer blown films. This creates needs-based packaging with optimal mechanical and optical properties.
