The church

The Protestant Hospital Church , also called St. Spiritus , is in the town of Ellrich in the Nordhausen district in Thuringia .

history

This church was first mentioned around 1500. Its floor plan is 13 × 9 meters. The simply built church of the poor had a carved altar.

In 1914 the two bells were melted down for war purposes.

From 1958 to 1970 the church served as a winter church .

Since the extensive renovations in 1994, 1997 and 1998, concerts and civil weddings have been held in the church.
