Hot love

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Hot Love is a song by the British glam rock group T. Rex from 1971. It was composed by Marc Bolan , the singer and front man of T. Rex, who composed almost all of the group's songs. It is the first song with which the group reached the top of the UK charts. In Germany, the song reached position 3 and stayed in the German charts for a total of 26 weeks. The song did not appear on any of the group's regular albums. The appearance of T. Rex in the Top of the Pops in March 1971, in which they played Hot Love, is referred to several times as the birth of glam rock. Marc Bolan smeared glitter on his cheeks during this gig. The song appears at number 1 on the Guardian's list of the best glam rock songs of all time.
