Hotel & Gastro Union
The Hotel & Gastro Union , based in Lucerne, is the largest Swiss professional organization for the hotel and catering industry as well as the bakery, confectioner and confectioner industry.
The organization with almost 22,000 members is committed to networking, education and security in the industry. The association is based in Lucerne and is entered in the commercial register. The professional organization was founded on October 8, 1886 in Lucerne under the name Union Helvetia as a self-help organization for Swiss hotel employees. In 1918 she became a founding member of the Association of Swiss Employees' Associations (from 2002 Travail.Suisse ). The Union Helvetia, the Swiss Central Association of Hotel and Restaurant Employees (UH), has since the delegates' meeting on 17/18 October 2000 today's name. The highest body is the delegates' meeting, which takes place every three years. The central board is responsible for the strategic and political leadership as well as the supervision of the professional associations, the regions and the management. Thanks to the division into eight regions, the association and its five professional associations are present in all parts of the country. According to its own statements, the association is religiously neutral and politically independent.
