House for an Art Lover

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The House for an Art Lover in Bellahouston Park , Glasgow , is a building constructed in the 1990s based on plans by Charles Rennie Mackintosh and his wife Margaret MacDonald Mackintosh .

The couple drafted the plans in 1901 for the “Haus einer Kunstfreunds” competition organized by the German magazine Interior Decoration . Although not an award-winning design, the design attracted great interest. From 1989 to 1996 the late realization as possible by John Kane, Graeme Robertson and Andrew MacMillan lasted as late as possible . The house is now used for cultural and social events. (Concerts, courses, weddings etc.)
