httpd.conf

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

httpd.conf is usually the file name of the configuration file of an Apache HTTP server . The server reads various configuration properties from this text file . These configuration properties can be edited directly in the file using super user permissions. The httpd.conf file can be located on any Unix- based system. The storage location of the httpd.conf is determined during compilation, can be overwritten with the command line option -f, and additional configuration files (such as ports.conf ) can be added using the Include directive .

The decentralized administration of the Apache configuration is done by means of special files within the web directory tree, which are usually called .htaccess .
