Huangshicheng

Huangshicheng ( 皇 史 宬 , Huángshǐchéng ), the Imperial Historical Archive, is located on Nanchizi Street in Beijing's Dongcheng District . It contains historical documents and the archives of the Ming and Qing dynasties . It was built in 1534 during the Jiajing era of the Ming Dynasty and was the first institution to keep historical documents of the emperor. It is the imperial archive of the Ming and Qing dynasties and is also called Biaozhangku 表章 库 .

It has been on the List of Monuments of the People's Republic of China (2-29) since 1982 .
