Hubert Bryan Heath Eves

Sir Hubert Bryan Heath Eves (born March 10, 1883 in Staines , Middlesex, † July 24, 1961 ) was a British manager. Among other things, he was director of the Anglo-Iranian Oil Company .

Eves was a son of William Eves and his wife Emily Mortimer, b. Hill. He was raised by private tutors

In 1909, Heath joined the Burmah Oil Company Ltd. (BOC), in whose service he was until 1921. In the years before the First World War he was a representative of the BOC in the Burmese oil fields, where his job was to oversee the company's drilling and production operations. From 1913 to 1921 he was General Manager of the BOC in India. At the same time (?) He was the general manager of the Anglo-Persian Oil Company (APOC) in India from 1914 . He held this position until 1921.

In 1921, Eves became the head of the APOC's Distribution Department at the company's London headquarters. He gave up his work for the BOC at this point at the latest. In 1924 he rose to the rank of director of the Anglo-Iranian Oil Company (AIOC), as the APOC was now called, and was elected to its board of directors.

From 1941 to 1950 Eves was the Deputy Chairman of the Anglo-Iranian Oil Company. In 1950 he retired from the board of directors, but remained a member of the supervisory board until 1953.

During the Second World War Eves was from 1940 to 1944 Chairman of the Tonnage Committee of the Petroleum Board of the British Government (Tanker Tonnage Committee). He was also director of the Suez Canal Company. In 1946 he was beaten to Knight Bachelor and was allowed to call himself "Sir" from then on.

Eves had been married to Gladys Mary Goring since November 1913. With this he had the sons Hubert John Heath and William David Heath Eves and the daughter Kathleen Mary Heath Eves. The eldest son was killed on March 18, 1943 as a member of the Scots Guards (8th British Army) in North Africa (Mareth Line). The second son became a well-known manager.
