Huchenzopf

A special bait for catching huchen with a fishing rod is called Huchenzopf . This bait has a mostly round lead head that is hollow at the rear and is attached to a steel axle. Several strands of rubber or leather strips are attached to the hollow side of the lead head.

The size, appearance and movement patterns of Huchenzopf to a group of young lampreys (or older Querder mimic). When there were still many lampreys in the rivers, these vertebrates were used as bait fish .
Huch braids are usually between 15 and 20 cm long.
