Hoof Upper Lyceum

The Hufen-Oberlyzeum was a girls high school in Königsberg (Prussia) .

history

In 1902 Elvira Szittnick founded a secondary school for girls in the front Hindenburgstrasse. In 1905 the school moved into a new building in what would later become Hindenburgstrasse. The Free State of Prussia acquired this lyceum and converted it into the Hufen-Oberlyzeum in 1921, which was to continue the tradition of the Royal Luisenstiftung (Posen) . The first director was also the last. Alfred Walsdorff ran the school from 1921 to January 1945 when the East Prussian operation began.
